主要从事水稻节水抗旱性的分子解析与遗传基础研究。目前开展的研究主要为将高通量测序技术应用于沪旱2B、沪旱3号(国审稻2004053)、沪旱15号(国审稻2006072)、旱优8号等一批抗旱抗逆性强、高产、优质、稳产性好的常规水稻新品种,综合利用生物信息学、基因组学、转录组学、甲基化组学等学科的理论与技术,基于其清晰的系谱关系,揭示育种过程中亲本效果显著的遗传基础,阐明其抗旱性改良形成与利用的基因组机制,发掘具有显著提高抗旱性的功能基因。为有效提高水稻水资源的利用及我国节水高效农业的健康发展提供基础理论依据
